Bentonville Retains ‘Mountain Bike Capital of the World’ Title in Unanimous Vote of Bentonville Residents

BENTONVILLE, Ark. — Bentonville has once again confirmed it is the “Mountain Bike Capital of the World” after conducting a unanimous vote among Bentonville residents, city officials announced Monday, calling the process “thorough,” “inclusive,” and “limited strictly to people who already agree.”

The survey, which excluded riders from every other mountain biking destination on Earth, was administered following exposure to what insiders described as a long-running “rollback hypnosis” program allegedly installed decades ago by Walmart founder Sam Walton and later upgraded for the modern era. Officials confirmed the system now operates through a network of 5G towers that connect directly to residents’ phones, eebs, AXS drivetrains, Garmins, and META glasses, transmitting confidence, brand loyalty, and an unshakable belief that Bentonville is globally dominant.

“We didn’t brainwash anyone,” Walton said in a quote attributed to archived corporate recordings. “We just synced their devices to everyday low expectations for the rest of the world. Once you do that, Bentonville feels like Whistler.”

According to survey data, a majority of voters reported they had never mountain biked outside of Bentonville, though many said they felt emotionally familiar with other destinations after watching their own YouTube content. As part of the program, residents are reportedly issued moderately successful YouTube channels, which the algorithm consistently rewards for posting pro-Bentonville trail edits, earnest gear reviews, and thumbnails featuring exaggerated stoke faces. The system operates via Ari Analink™, a proprietary feedback loop that officials say ensures “organic reach through structured agreement.”

Others cited riding their bike to work as irrefutable proof that Bentonville eclipses places like Bellingham, Washington, and Washington County, Utah, which were dismissed in survey notes as “destinations that require planning, travel, or leg strength.”

“If you have to plan a trip, pack gear, or deal with elevation, you’re kind of missing the point,” said Kyle Denyal, president of the Bentonville Sycling Club, or BS Club. “Mountain biking should be convenient, well-marked, and upload-ready. If your drivetrain isn’t reinforcing your beliefs mid-ride, that’s on you.”

Denyal added that Bentonville’s trails are designed to make riders feel accomplished without the emotional stress of exposure, weather, or self-reflection. “Our trails are confidence-forward,” he said. “You leave feeling like a better rider, regardless of skill, fitness, or reality.”

City officials said the title will be reaffirmed annually using the same voting process, with plans to expand the hypnosis system to include trailhead restrooms, crosswalk buttons, and firmware updates pushed silently overnight. Officials emphasized that outside criticism only reinforces Bentonville’s status as the capital, noting that “jealousy is just recognition with bad vibes.”

“We could invite the rest of the world to weigh in,” Denyal said. “But honestly, the algorithm already has.”
